Dr.K.M.Marimuthu,M.A., M.Sc., M.Tech., Ph.D.,
The two term Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore received his early university education in India, His M.A., and M.Sc., in Annamalai University, received his M.Tech finally in Karakpur IIT and then proceeded to Canada and Qualified for his Ph.D., Degree from McMaster University, Hellion and Post Doctoral Diploma in Boston, USA.Starting his teaching career as a Research Scholar in Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore, he has served in Various teaching and Research assignment in different capacities at different levels with enormous exposure in leading universities and advanced research laboratories in pieces and American continents to mention a few of the universities where he had been a faculty was McMaster University Canada –University of Michigan, USA – TUFTS University, Boston, USA – Morehouse College, Atlanta, USA and University of Madras. As Scientist, he has worked with New England Medical Center – Massachusetts, USA – Department of Radiology, Tufts New England, USA – Sylvius Lab Laiden University, Netherlands. Above all he was the first Indian Scientist to be associated with NASA-National Aeronautical and Space Administration, USA.
Some 25 scholars have got their Ph.D. Degree and 40 StudentS M.Phil. Degree in the field of Genetics and allied subjects under his supervision. He has to his credit a publication of 86 Research articles mostly published in International Journals. No wonder Government had adjudicated him as the Best Teacher and has also been conferred with the Dr.L.D.Sanghvi Oration award in Human Genetics.
